About PCC and Piqua
Piqua Christian Church has been in Piqua for 127 years and currently has an average weekly attendance of 136. The current church building was constructed in 1968 and the sanctuary and foyer areas were renovated in 2010. We have plans to update foyer again and renovate the children's area in coming year. We are debt free.
PCC Sunday worhip is primarily modern music with some contemporary hymns mixed-in along the way. Our worship is led by a band that features guitars, drums, vocals, etc. We incorporate video and other media elements often to enhace the services. We also offer Sunday School with one adult class, a children's class that splits into PreSchool and Elementary for small group time, and a Jr/Sr High Class.
Throughout the week PCC offers small groups that meet in homes. We currently have about 40 adults who are engaged in groups on a regular basis. We believe groups are the primary "next step" for our family.
For students PCC has a youth group that averages 22 Jr/Sr High Students every Sunday night from September through May and meets monthly in the summer. PCC Youth also attend events like CIY Move, Believe, SuperStart, CedarMania, Ohio Teens for Christ, and also participate in mission trips with the rest of our church.
PCC is now in it's 4th year of Awana for kids grades K-6 and it has really been a phenomenal ministry for our church. We have several committed volunteers who come week after week and pour into the kids who come to hear the Gospel. Last year our Awana ministry averaged over 30 kids.
PCC is engaged actively in missions in both by serving physically and giving financially. We have three primary partners: Western Avenue Ministries in Toledo, CrossRoads Missions out of Louisville, KY, and IDES out of Indianapolis, IN. You can learn more about the missions we support on our missions page.
PCC currently has one full time staff member, Connections Minister Jeff Ratliff. Jeff has been here at PCC for 5 years and oversees our volunteer systems, small groups, missions, and helps lead our leadership development. He also plays drums in the worship band and pretends to be as good as Neil Pert from Rush.
